Telling the bees. 2024->

TELLING THE BEES is an ongoing project by us, artist and illustrator Benedicte Dahm and artist and landscape architect Julie Hjelt Wold. We are experimenting with new ways of mapping, remembering, viewing and finding rooms for preserving memories in the development of cities. 

“Telling the bees” is inspired by the old grieving practise where the bees are informed of important events, such as births, deaths and marriages. It was believed that if the bees wasn’t put into mourning they would be offended, and stop making honey or leave their hive.

In this publication, we want to say our last goodbye to spaces that are waiting to be torn down and demolished. This happens through a series of conversations with the space themselves, and the spieces and materials surrounding them.
